Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of TopGaffer. By signing up or making picks, you agree to them. Plain English where possible. Email support@topgaffer.com with any questions.

1. The service

TopGaffer is a strategic football prediction game. You pick winning teams from a limited bank of uses across a tournament or season. There is no money involved — picks are for fun and leaderboard bragging rights only. The service is provided "as is" without any guarantee of accuracy of fixtures, scores, or results.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use TopGaffer. If you're between 13 and the age of majority in your country, you confirm that a parent or guardian has agreed to these terms on your behalf.

3. Your account

• You're responsible for keeping your sign-in email and Google account secure.
• One account per person. Don't share accounts or use multiple accounts to game leaderboards.
• Your username is public. Past picks are public to other signed-in users; future (unlocked) picks are private until kickoff.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Pick a username, group name, or any other content that's offensive, harassing, or that infringes someone else's rights.
• Attempt to circumvent the bank limits, scoring, or RLS rules (e.g. by direct API tampering).
• Scrape or bulk-export data from other players.
• Use the service to send spam or unsolicited messages.
• Reverse-engineer the service in ways that disrupt other users.

We may suspend or remove accounts that breach these rules, with or without notice.

5. Content

You retain whatever rights you have in usernames and group names you create, but you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display them within the service for as long as you have an active account. We may remove content that breaches Section 4 at any time.

6. Fixtures, scores, and third-party data

Fixture and result data is sourced from API-Football. We make no guarantee about its accuracy or timeliness. If a result is corrected by the data provider, we may recompute leaderboards accordingly. Picks lock at the scheduled kickoff time; if a match is postponed or cancelled, affected picks may be voided or rescored at our discretion.

7. No money, no warranty

TopGaffer involves no entry fees, no prize money, no gambling, and no cash equivalents. The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability or fitness for purpose. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any specific match data will be available at any specific time.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of TopGaffer. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these terms is limited to £100. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.

9. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from the profile settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or that have been inactive for an extended period. On termination, your account is deleted and your past leaderboard entries are anonymised as described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms over time. Material changes will be communicated by email to active accounts. Continued use after the "Last updated" date above means you accept the updated terms.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
